# Fees & Settlement

#### Trading Fees

GVEX operates with transparent fee structures:

* **Maker Fees**: 0.7 %
* **Taker Fees**: 0.7%

#### Network Gas Costs

Gas fees (paid in $GPU) are only required for:

* **Deposits**: Moving assets into GVEX
* **Withdrawals**: Moving assets out of GVEX

All trading operations are handled off-chain:

* Order placement
* Order cancellation
* Order matching
* Trade execution

This hybrid model keeps trading fast and gas-efficient. You only pay gas when moving assets on/off the platform.

#### Settlement

Trades settle instantly when orders are matched. The process is:

1. Off-chain matching engine identifies compatible orders
2. Trade executes and your GVEX balance updates instantly
3. Updated balances are immediately visible in the GVEX interface
4. To access your funds on-chain, initiate a withdrawal
5. Withdrawal requires gas fee and transfers assets to your wallet

**Important**: Matched trades update your GVEX balance immediately, but funds remain in the exchange's smart contract until you withdraw them to your wallet.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.gpu.net/gvex/fees-and-settlement.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
